New Director Training

The New Directors Training, a proven teaching vehicle for new directors, uses a peer-to-peer training forum that connects veteran administrators with newly appointed administrators. This program does just that, cultivating new leaders from juvenile justice systems around the country. Participants expand their knowledge of evidence-based principles and best practices in juvenile justice. New Directors Training participants will identify challenges and opportunities from their own jurisdictions for discussion and feedback with national leaders. The training presentations and open discussion topics include Management of Juvenile Justice Systems, Culture Change and Leadership, and Transformation through Leadership and Maintaining Momentum.  Overall, New Director Training hopes to strengthen outcome measurement, accountability, and ongoing system improvement efforts.

New Director Training is conducted once a year by invitation only.
