CJJA Announces Virtual Trainings for Facility Directors and Superintendents
CJJA has received provisional approval to host the OJJDP/CJJA virtual August Facility Directors and Superintendents Training beginning on August 25, 2020.
Due to the pandemic, the training and technical assistance program will begin online. Juvenile justice leaders, researchers, and subject matter experts present key research, policy and practice examples, tools, and strategies which are designed to support facility directors and superintendents in the improvement of short and long-term outcomes for youth in residential and correctional placements.
The August training sessions will be followed by monthly coaching sessions held over the next five months online. Participants are given the opportunity to develop and implement a plan with the assistance of a coach to address improvements within one of four core areas: Family Engagement, Positive Youth Outcomes and Programming, Reentry Services, and Staff Wellness.
The training concludes with a one-day in-person training session which is provisionally approved to occur in-person in January 2021.
More information and a detailed agenda will be shared in the coming weeks. Always check our website for news about other trainings https://cjja.net/ or contact the CJJA Training Director, stephanie.vetter@cjja.net.
